Retriever Training with Jim Beverly

Jim Beverly has been training dogs since the early 1960's. His ability to evaluate and understand each individual dogs' personality allows him to do what is needed to solve a specific problem, or motivate an animal to behave and perform in a positive manner. Although Jim does obedience training and problem solving for all breeds, sporting breeds, specifically Retrievers, is a specialty.

 “I worked with the pros as a teenager.  In 1967, I started training for my own clients.  My education is in Engineering & Marketing.  In recent years, I have discontinued running dogs in hunt tests or other competitive venues.  I now specialize in training, clinics, seminars and the Companion Hunting Retriever. The passion I have for training the dog and educating the owner/handler for the real world of hunting, is greater than my desire for titles or passing tests based on expectations of anyone other than the individual hunter.  My attitude toward the companion hunting dog is one that does not allow for failure or a recommendation to replace the animal.  Regardless of what the pedigree shows or where the dog originated, the retriever CAN do what it was bred to do if the proper techniques are used for that particular personality and style of dog.”

Jim plans on doing more clinics and seminars in the future, in addition to producing an unedited, true to life training DVD. He will be appearing on the Outdoor Channel and Callin The Shots Waterfowl Hunting video series starting in 2008.   I will also be doing conferences for those interested in becoming a professional trainer and learning my techniques and style.  It is no secret to everyone that knows me that I give all the credit for my special talent to GOD and wish to share it with anyone interested.
